The Painted Tree Swim Team (PTST) works hard every summer to prepare for competition with neighboring communities. The swim season starts in early May and usually ends before July, so it's only a short commitment with plenty of time to schedule vacations and other fun stuff during the rest of the summer. If you would like to see what we are all about, come join us and support our kids. Grab a snack at the swim team concession stand and watch the fun!
The swim team is a great activity for all kids and a wonderful way to feel part of the community. All kids through the age of 18 are welcome to join the team. Even the little kids have fun at the meets and warm your heart when they grin as they receive their ribbons for making it across the pool. Often the little ones are accompanied across the pool by an advanced swimmer to give them confidence and keep them safe. No experience is necessary but, in general, swimmers should feel comfortable swimming the length of the pool.
Our team is run primarily by parent volunteers who help coach, coordinate activities, transport children to meets, provide snacks and encouragement, time races, judge strokes, work concessions, record scores, and many other details. Swim Team registration fees are determined based on the number of family members that join and are used exclusively for team expenses.
The only other cost is your time.
We encourage all parents to participate when they can.
Registration rates for 2011 are as follows:
Team swim suits can be purchased for your swimmers, but are not required. The 2011 suits are the same as last year.
Watch for the signs in early April of each year announcing the swim team sign up day.
If you miss it, you can still come to practice and
fill out a registration form there or you can fill out
one of the registration forms below, sign it and bring it to one of
the practices.
Note: All swimmers must be members of the Painted Tree Swim & Racquet Association and all dues must be paid in full.
The 2011 season swim meet schedule is as follows.
Most meets will begin at 5:30 pm due to lightning.
(Some of the away meets may begin at 6:00 pm)
All swimmers must arrive 45 minutes prior to the start of each meet to warm-up and get familiar with the pool.

Practices begin on Monday, May 16th, 2011 and are held every weekday.
Practices are divided into two sessions by age. The 2011 practice schedule is as follows:
| 4-5 pm | → ages 10 and under |
| 5-6 pm | → ages 11 and up |
*There will be some dry land practices the week before on Monday, May 9th and Wednesday, May 11th at 5:00 pm. (Dates and times to be confirmed)
Once school is out for the summer, practices will be held in the mornings and start at 8:30 am.
